How it Began

In 2019, Elizabeth gathered a small team in Sanibel, Florida and created Furnish With Care. They set out a mission:  To work with other not for profit organizations to provide low income individuals and families in Lee County, with the interior design, furnishing and installation to create a dignified and supportive home environment.

What We Do

Securing affordable housing in Lee County is a huge challenge for our most economically vulnerable families and individuals most in need.   And too often, securing the living space is just the first step, and what goes inside that living space—and how it can enrich the occupants -- is an afterthought.

Whether transitioning from homelessness, recent immigrants starting a new life, families affected by natural disaster, young adults aging out of the foster care system, low-income seniors or financially vulnerable families looking for a stable home, everyone deserves to live in a safe and harmonious space.

When a family has access to a safe and secure place, with furnishings they are proud to own, and a role in creating their living space, we believe it can help provide the foundation to live a fulfilling and positive life.

We need our rooms to align us to desirable versions of ourselves and to keep alive the important, evanescent sides of us.
— Alain De Botton
