We couldn’t do what we do without volunteers! Our work is made possible by services and labor of our volunteers. We are so lucky to be in Southwest Florida with the wealth of knowledge and experience so many people bring. We hope you will join us and contribute some of your ideas and time. Whether you live here 12 months of the year, or just one, you’re time and help is needed and deeply valued.

arts & crafts
Do you like DIY? If you like design, crafts, and are handy with tools, we are always looking for volunteers to help us restore gently used furniture. Like painting the great gently used side tables we find, helping sew some throw pillows or hem curtains, or creating a bulletin board, painting (or even, taking!) a picture. Artwork is always needed and a beautiful way to help make a house a home.

administration
Furnish With Care always welcomes help with administrative tasks! Volunteers are invited to help us write grants, photograph projects for our donors, on our website and blog, create a short video, help create a detailed development plan, and update and input our warehouse list.

heavy lifting
We are always on the lookout for muscle—those folks willing to pick-up and deliver donated items, and very importantly to help out our movers on moving day.

Design installation team
Do you love home makeover shows? If so, volunteer to work with our team of interior designers on the day of install! We are always looking for friends who like the process of putting a space together, and thrive while working under time constraints! Prepare to get a bit sweaty, but have a blast, because we have a short amount of time to get everything just right and make a house a home!

Thrifting
People who love “thrifting” are especially helpful to the success of Furnish With Care’s work. Create a “Thrifting Day” for Furnish With Care by gathering a group of friends and co-ordinate a date and time with us. We provide you with a current list of needed items, the style we are looking for, and you can apply your knowledge and expertise and thrift much needed furnishings and accessories. Some of our supporters have helped save Furnish With Care thousands of dollars!

Service day
We love working with individual volunteers, and with groups. Whether you’re a group of colleagues from work, neighbors, or just friends looking for a fun way to support an important cause, we would love for you to join our community of volunteers, of all ages and backgrounds, to help transform a house into a home for individuals and families in need.

Sponsor a Project
Short on time but long on heart? No problem! Our staff at Furnish With Care will do the shopping for a room or entire house of furniture and accessories you sponsor. At the end of the project, we will share all the pictures of the items so you can see exactly what your generosity helped create.
